![]() Apparently he came home after duty and had caught her having sex with some infantry guy who was lower ranked than he was, a pvt or something. Anyway, I'd guess about a month later, he moved back into the barracks with us regular folks and told us what had happened with Queen. He always said he was going to order her because her name was "Queen" and he said her name would be "Queen Smith". He ended up paying $8000 for her, her plane ticket, her visa, and she came with a ring. But then again, Smith wasn't exactly a player. We found the old catalog and sure enough, it was the girl he had circled in the catalog. We always thought he was kidding but one day we saw him walking around with this little philipino girl and had moved to an apartment off post. Smith, who kept telling us he was going to order one. Anyhow, we remember one of our friends, Spec. So I was stationed in korea back in 2000-2001 and we used to see these mail order bride catalogs all over the place, we kept them around because they were kinda interesting. I have a story worth sharing regarding this subject matter (I will change the names just in case). To say that you are terrified of one culture because of some xenophobic stories, which are ubiquitous throughout human history and cultures, is incredibly narrow minded and you are limiting yourself of potentially enriching experiences. I'm telling you this story to give perspective, that human beings all act the same, whatever ethnicity they are. My mom endured this treatment for the first decade of her new immigrant life by sitting in a bathroom stall and crying her heart out during lunch break everyday before composing herself and finishing out the rest of her shift. Her patients would complain to her supervisors and demand an "American" nurse instead of a "chink" nurse, and they would comply. She would tell me stories about the horribly racist attitudes she endured from her coworkers, who would often berate her for her poor English speaking and listening abilities, the way she looked, and her mannerisms. My mom immigrated to the US in the early 70's from an Asian country as a nurse. If you're divorced, did you go back to Russia? Or did you stay in the US?.Are you still married? Are you happy about it?.What was the screening process? Did you have a choice if you didn't like the guy? Could you reject?.How long did it take for you to be selected?. ![]() Why did you do it? Did you join up on the service through your own accord?.Honestly, how many know how you and her meet? I would assume you'd get more shocked looks than if you said, "I met her online.".Why did you decide to use a Mail Order Bride medium to get a wife?.For any of you who know a Mail Order Bride, any country will do.
